Effective Ways To Fix iPhone Says Searching At The Top

1 - Check your coverage area

The first thing you have to check is that you are in the service area to get cellular service. If you’re out in the middle nowhere and you know that there not a cell tower anywhere near you then you need to change your location. If you are in a hill station area or at a higher elevation than normal then you are expected to face such problems.

2 - Turing your iPhone on and off

Restart your phone can also be helpful as sometimes the software and app that you use constantly may slow down your phone and cause signal problems.


To turn off your iPhone, press the power button until “slide to
 power off” appears on the screen. Swipe the icon across the screen using your finger. Wait for 20 seconds for it to shut down completely and then turn it back on by pressing the power button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

3 - Make your Carrier Settings up to date

If you are traveling outside India, make sure that your iPhone is set up for data roaming then also if the message is not going away. Do this by going to settings, then cellular. Next, go to cellular data option and turn on the Data roaming. Now, the “searching” message should go away.

4 - Update your iOS

How to update your IOS

Ø First, connect your iPhone with wi-fi into a computer or iTunes.

Ø Now go to setting > general > software update.

Ø If you are using iTunes check for update button.

5 - Test your sim card

Use a SIM Tool or a piece of paper clip, to remove the SIM tray from the side of your iPhone. Test your SIM card in another phone to confirm if the Searching or No Service issue is due to a fault in your iPhone or the SIM card itself.

If the SIM card still doesn’t work on another phone, you’ll need to contact your cell provider to replace your sim. Otherwise, you can continue with our steps below. While the SIM tray is removed, look inside your iPhone for the liquid indicator tab. It should be a small white tab. If it’s turned orange or pink your iPhone could be liquid damaged.

6 - Contact your network provider

Network showing searching or no service issue could be from the carrier. Cell towers occasionally malfunction or go down for maintenance. This may also happen due to your account has been locked for reasons like suspected fraud, delayed payments, or if your iPhone has been reported stolen.

Use another phone to call your network provider and discuss your issue with them.

7 - DFU Restore Your iPhone

Device firmware updating your iPhone should be your last option to resolve your problem of iPhone says searching issue, but very often this process can resolve your issue. In case your firmware has gotten corrupted somehow which is a rare chance but possible nevertheless, then restoring your phone to the factory settings will get rid of it. 

Keep in mind, restoring an iPhone erases everything on it and restores its software to factory settings. So, back up all of your information to either iCloud or iTunes and then use these to restore your backup to the newly reset iPhone.

·       First, connect your iPhone to the computer > open iTunes. You can keep your iPhone off while you’re doing this.

·     Then, press/hold the Sleep and device’s Home Button For-iPhone 6s and below or the volume down button together for 8 seconds.

·    Release the Sleep Button but hold on to the Home Button (iPhone 6s and below) or the volume down button until iTunes detected iPhone under recovery mode.

·   Lastly, Release the device Home Button. After that your iPhone’s display will appear completely black it entered the DFU mode.

·      Finally, now restore your backup to iPhone with the help of iTunes.

8 - Physical or hard problem

The physical and hard problems, these reasons can also be the cause of network issues there can be a manufacturing defect but in this case, you can go to the mobile brand customer care center and get it repaired or replace according to the time span of purchase.
